Rape Case Processing: Evaluation of Legal Reform

Laws in a number of States restrict the conditions under which the victim's prior sexual history can be admitted as evidence in rape cases. The impact of the Robbins Rape Evidence Law in California on victims, offenders arrested for rape or rape-murder, and criminal justice agencies was analyzed. Significant changes in rape case processing were associated with the implementation of special training programs and vertical prosecuting in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
