Age and Growth of Four Everglades Fishes Using Otolith Techniques

Four species of small Everglades fishes Lucania goodei and Fundulus chrysotus; Gambusia affinis and Heterandria formosa were examined for the presence of daily growth increments on the otoliths. These increments were used to succesfully determine the ages and growth rates. Growth was modeled using the von Bertalanffy growth equation and was compared among three sampling dates in the report.
