The President's Private Sector Survey on Cost Control has reviewed Executive Branch publishing, printing, reproduction and audiovisual production. The review spanned every phase, from the original conception and decision to produce through production, marketing and distribution of publications and audiovisuals. Every major agency or sub-agency of the Federal Government is involved in some or all of these activities. The review indicates the potential for large savings. This report contains recommendations projected to yield cost savings and additional revenues exceeding $500 million the first year (and $1.7 billion over three years), or some 20 percent of total FY 1982 printing and publishing costs.
