Emission Characteristics of Crude Oil Production Operations in California

The objective of this study was to quantify the air pollutant emissions associated with crude oil production and gas processing operations in the State of California. To achieve this goal, the Contractor surveyed representative onshore and offshore oil production facilities, assembled existing emission factor data, performed some source testing to develop additional emission factors, obtained computerized well count data from the California Division of Oil and Gas, characterized wells into various models, and developed the necessary software to compile the emission inventory.
