摘要

In the oral cavity thermal changes can be responsible for tooth damage resulting in pulpitis and pain. The relationship between pain and temperature has been investigated 1-6 widely. Thermal analysis of human teeth however has not been reported frequently. In the last few years thermal analysis has been carried out by calculation of the temperature field in a theoretical tooth model by means of a numerical mathematical method, the Finite Element Method (FEM). However, thermal analysis has been restricted to a comparative investigation into changes of the temperature field in human teeth restored in a various way. The aim of the present study is to analyze the temperature field and heat flow as a function of time in three restored teeth, varying in cavity geometry and the presence of a cement base.
