Characterization of the Polymerization of an Impregnation Resin: Application to Industrial Baking

摘要

The manufacturing of a composite from a resin/reinforcement system requires concurrently, a thermal cycle to polymerize the matris; and pressure to compact the system. The optimization of composites with high levels of mechanical performance during a heating cycle is a compromise between the influence of the thermal cycle on polymerisation of the resin and the influence of the pressure on the compacting ability of the preimpregnated products. Thermomechanical, physical, and electrical test methods make it possible, for a given thermal cycle, to follow the polymerization of the matrix and to determine the gelling commencement zone favorable to placement under pressure on the stack of preimpregnated products, so as to obtain the best compoosite possible.
