The Directive reissues DoD Directive 4270.24, October 16, 1978, to reflect the changes made by Public Law 97-214, which became effective on October 1, 1982. It prescribes policy and procedures for the programming, approval, and reporting of DoD projects. The Directive cancels Report Control Symbols DD-M(AS)1452 and DD-M(a)431 and DoD Instruction 5100.37.
