Computer Input and Output of Chinese Ideograms

摘要

Results are presented of a survey and analysis of various Chinese character input strategies and output systems and methodologies. SINOTERM's word-root composition approach is shown to be the optimal input system, and the dot-matrix approach the best scheme for representing Chinese printing system architecture at three different levels for various applications. However, research is needed to develop better and faster ways of generating Chinese character fonts, to improve Chinese character input strategy and display techniques, and to implement the complex Chinese text typesetting functions.
