Fifteen case studies of innovations in the following categories are presented: management; finance; personnel; communication; community and economic development; environment; energy; public works and public utilities; criminal justice; and health. The following information is supplied for each case study: project title, county, background, objectives, process, results, and contact. The subjects addressed by the case studies include the automated processing of tax refunds, computerized identification of vacant industrial land, automated fuel management, and prefabricated bridges.
