Proposal to Screen Third Grade Children for Seizures

摘要

The primary objective of this research study was to validate an instrument to screen eight year old children for undetected seizure disorders. In addition, secondary objectives included: (1) determining the prevalence of epilepsy in the selected population, (2) determining the frequency of undetected seizures disorders in the selected population, (3) comparing the results of the study with similar previous studies, (4) determining if the screening method is beneficial and cost effective, and (5) increasing teachers' knowledge of epilepsy and its related disorders.
