摘要

Twenty-five healthy volunteers were exposed twice each to purified air (control) and to 4 ppm NO2 (exposure) for periods of one hour, fifteen minutes, including light and heavy bicycle exercise (fifteen minutes each). No statistically significant effects of NO2 on airway resistance, symptoms, heart rate, skin conductance, or self-reported emotional states were found. Systolic blood pressure showed a statistically significant difference between NO2 exposure and control: a decrease with NO2 of about 2 mm Hg. The lack of effect on airway resistance contrasts with published results from other laboratories. The health significance of the blood-pressure effect, if any, is unknown.
