Organizational integration is very important to the success of the innovation process within the firm. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to: (1) carry out a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the stage-dominant (SD), process-dominant (PD), and task-dominant (TD) models for achieving integration; (2) fully develop the contingent relationships between these models; and (3) develop rules and guidelines that can be used to indicate which model should be used under which conditions, and how to use it to achieve integration.
