Consumptive Use of Water and Supplemental Irrigation Needs for Selected Crops and Locations in the Southeastern United States

This study deals with the water use aspects of irrigation development and irrigated cropland in a five-State region in the Southeast, comprised of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The research discusses recently developed methods for estimating the consumptive use requirements for selected crops. Changes in irrigated cropland are discussed and data on irrigation cropland are presented to identify changing irrigated cropland complexes.
