Contains a description of the work undertaken by the American Loudspeaker Manufacturers Association to help the domestic industry become more competitive with imports. Areas analyzed include: (1) Review of existing technology used in the industry and possible applications of new technologies; (2) Standardization of components and parts to reduce unnecessary product differentiation; (3) Assessment of domestic and foreign markets and recommendations for improving access to them; and (4) Utilization of alternative management techniques, i.e. quality circles, etc., in loudspeaker manufacturing.
