Keyword Thesaurus: A List of Terms and Codes to Identify Areas of Interest for Research and Other Types of Sponsored Programs (Revised October 1984)

This Keyword Thesaurus will bring about greater accuracy in matching the focus of announcements with the research interests of the faculty, time savings of staff in the resource identification process, more timely notification of the faculty, and improved relationships with the faculty. Precise classification of announcements, and an efficient matching system, allowing notification of and response by the most interested and qualified professors, will enhance the effective use of time and energy within the research community as well as within the government agencies. Now that the evaluation of the experiment has been quite positive, we are encouraged that this Thesaurus may be implemented by all federal agencies.
