Illinois Climate: Trends, Impacts and Issues. Proceedings of the Annual ENR (Energy and Natural Resources) Conference (12th) Held at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois on September 13-14, 1983

This report contains the speeches and papers presented at the 12th Annual ENR Conference held September 13-14, 1983 on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Also included are biographies of the speakers and a brief history of the Department of Energy and Natural Resources. This conference discussed Illinois' climate over the past 10,000 years up to the present and explored the theories regarding both a warm future climate and a cold future climate. Speakers also examined the effects of air pollution and climate upon insect pests and their movement. The impacts of changes in the carbon dioxide levels upon agriculture and current studies of acid rain issues were also presented. The directors of Illinois' three environmental departments, ENR, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Illinois Pollution Control Board, reported on their agencies' efforts in the previously discussed areas.
