Munson Valley, Crater Lake National Park: A Manual for Preservation, Redevelopment, Adaptive Use and Interpretation

A student proposal (University of Oregon) designed to preserve the natural and cultural resource and to provide for visitor enjoyment of the site. The goals that have served to shape and influence the design proposal are: (1) The reduction of congestion on the rim, enhancement of the area, returning it to a pristine condition, (2) Development of an access and circulation system, (3) To provide visitors the opportunity to experience the Park on a variety of interpretive levels year round, (4) To provide a quality lodging and camping experience, (5) To disperse visitor use by encouraging winter use, (6) To provide efficient, economic and environmentally sound suitable housing and administrative facilities for permanent and seasonal employees.
