摘要

The paper discusses all phases of remanufacturing: the disassembly, inspection, refurbishing, reassembly, and final testing of worn durable products which are then rendered less costly but otherwise useable. The process is particularly applicable to developing countries because it requires less capital and fewer labor skills than that of the original equipment manufacturer. For those developing country locations having an assured supply of unserviceable products and meeting the minimum requirements for labor and investment, the report reveals that the financial and economic viability of remanufacturing can be assured.
