Employee Characteristics and Firm Size: Are There Any Systematic Empirical Relationships

The report presents several basic sets of tables to profile the characteristics of workers--marital status, sex, race, age, earnings interval, labor force attachment--so that they may be examined by the size of establishment they worked in and by the size of the overall business. A tape was also prepared (i.e., a summary tape) for the use of the SBA at the computer center at the National Institute of Health. The report also reflects a detailed analysis of worker characteristics, utilizing regression techniques to examine the characteristics by size of firm.
