United States industry has led the world for the past century with its high rate of productivity. This has resulted in healthy, competitive industry and a high standard of living for United States workers. This dominance is being challenged and many companies are facing problems in remaining viable. The MPC is dedicated to helping United States industry increase its productivity. MPC will make information available to industry and, through MPC, interaction will be encouraged among companies. The Center will provide impetus for individual companies to increase their productivity and further, help to increase the productivity of vendors and material suppliers. Productivity is the responsibility of individual companies - they succeed or fail based on their own efforts. The MPC provides participants with information and motivation to help direct their efforts toward productivity gains.
