Protective Coverings for Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composites

摘要

This report discusses work performed in the development of protective elastomeric coverings for application to fiber reinforced epoxy composites to be used in a submerged marine environment. Work was performed in identifying optimum substrate/primer/covering systems and in identifying nonstandard adhesion enhancement/bonding techniques. Data was generated concerning application techniques, various physical properties and long term saltwater immersion effects on adhesion.
