The book discusses many general concepts. The author has formulated patterns that sum up our present knowledge of soil geography. Such are the concept of megastructures and microstructures of the soil cover of the earth, landscape-geochemical areals and types of soil-geochemical contiguities (associations), and types of pedogenetic regions. Laws have been formulated for the geographical variability of soil families and the multiplicity of zonal soil types.
