The basic object of the study is to recommend ways of planning and conducting more effective geotechnical site investigation programs. In turn, the results of the study are expected to provide a fundamental contribution to a series of wider objects: advancements in underground construction technology, improvements in controlling or moderating construction costs, and reduction in the incidence and degree of construction hazards or failures.
