Health Hazard Evaluation Report HETA 82-305-1541, Fountain Avenue Landfill, Brooklyn, New York

Environmental and breathing zone samples were analyzed for organic solvent vapors, metals, asbestos (1332214), quartz (14808607), airborne dusts, and carbon-monoxide (630080) at Fountain Avenue Landfill, Brooklyn, New York in September, 1982. Noise levels were also monitored. The survey was requested by the Commissioner of Health for the City of New York due to concern for worker health and safety and the possibility that contaminants from the landfill might migrate to nearby housing areas.
