USCGC GLACIER: Operations Deep Freeze 1982 (Northern Antarctic Peninsula) and 1983 (Ross Sea-Sulzberger Bay Area) Sediment Descriptions

The volume describes sediments obtained by coring and grab-sampling and is the fourth in a series of volumes produced by Florida State University, Rice University, and the University of Maine, all of which are concerned with the descriptions of sediments collected since 1968 by Glacier in waters of the antarctic continental shelf and slope, and immediately adjacent areas of shelf seas. The data include (1) scientific objectives of each cruise, together with a discussion of core and grab sample recovery, shipment, and handling; (2) station location data; (3) information concerning age-dates of the piston cores; (4) laboratory procedures and descriptive criteria used, and (5) lithologic descriptions.
