The 5 papers in this report deal with the following areas: the dynamics of vehicle operator absenteeism; Washington state department of transportation organizational review-how and why; a framework for evaluating transit maintenance resource utilization; restructuring the DOT research organization: Washington state case study; and, extraboard scheduling, workers' compensation, and operator stress in public transit: research results and managerial implications.
