摘要

The objectives of the research was to develop an economic model of irrigated crop production which incorporates the dynamic response of the crop to water and the farmer's irrigation decision-making process over time. An appropriate statistical model is developed to estimate the parameters of the response (production) function. The model and methodology are applied to the case of irrigated wheat production in the Imperial Valley of California. The estimated model shows that water productivity changes substantially in the growing stages. The implications for optimal water use are therefore substantially different than those of a static response model
