摘要

The report represents a first attempt to select a set of indicators of precollege science and mathematics education that might be constructed over the short range and presents recommendations for improving the information pertinent to the selected indicators. It is restricted to indicators that can be constructed from information already being collected from national, state, and local levels or could be collected by a modest extension of current data collecting activities. The committee derives from the data some findings about the current condition of science and mathematics education.
