The VH0/EUR0 Technical Committee on Monitoring and Evaluating Airborne MMMF, consisting of expert from six countries, has developed an international reference scheme to harmonize evaluation, fibre counting and ailing procedures and to assess counting differences between laboratories participating in the scheme. This volume summarizes the progress mode on this schema in harmonizing fibre counting levels by the use of standard evaluation procedures and regular interlaboratory sample exchanges. Also include are the reference methods for monitoring concentration of fibers using a phase contras optical microscope and for determining size of fibreT using a scanning electron microscope.
