Demographic Change and Recent Worktrip Travel Trends. Volume 1. Final Report

摘要

The report explores how some of the most important social, demographic and economic trends of the 1970s are related to the use of public transportation for the journey to work. In the report, data from the 1970 and 1980 Census Bureau's Public Use Microdata Samples, are used to measure changes in the size and location of various demographic subgroups and measure changes in the rates at which those subgroups used public transportation for the journey to work. The major focus of the study was to provide transportation planners with statistical evidence regarding the use of public transportation for the journey to work by these subgroups and how worktrip transit use patterns changed in the 1970s.
