摘要

World milk production is expected to be up only 1% in 1985 and another 1% gain is projected for next year. Prices on international markets for dairy products remain depressed and the major diary exporting countries continue to compete actively for overseas sales. The European Community, the world's largest dairy exporting region, reduced milk output and the manufacture of butter and nonfat dry milk in 1984 and 1985. However, pressure to export substantial quantities of dairy products will continue as large surplus stocks of butter. Milk production should continue large for Oceania in 1985/86 but a output expanded sharply in the United States this year and other substantial gain is projected for 1986. For 1986, increasing milk output is expected to push surplus stocks up.
