Monthly Infrared Imagery Enhancement Curves: A Tool for Nighttime Sea Fog Identification off the New England Coast

Detection of nighttime sea fog is possible using enhanced infrared imagery and a pattern recognition technique. Enhancement curves were developed to delineate minimal temperature differences in the sea surface and sea fog cloud top temperature ranges. Presented in the memorandum are monthly enhancement curves for the months April through October.
