The Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission is one of the organizations charged with fostering the economic development of the Virginia Counties of Bath and Highland. A sparse industrial base in the tri-county area plus layoffs create the need for a strategy to attract job-producing industries to the area. The Fantus Company has been retained by the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission to conduct a five-part study designed to provide focus and direction to the area's economic development effort.
