摘要

Research was undertaken to diminish the incidence of microbiological and chemical problems in public drinking water systems. Eighty-three Missouri water supplies were evaluated with respect to microbial regrowth, aftergrowth and trihalomethane formation. In addition, the performance of treatment processes in removing turbidity, particulate organic carbon and bacteria (as measured by coliform, HPC and direct count) was evaluated.
