The synthesis report presents and evaluates available environmental data related to potential petroleum development in the Norton Basin leave sale area, located in the northern Bering Sea. The report is largely based on information presented at a meeting held at Denali National Park, Alaska on June 5-7, 1984. Chapters are included on the physical environment and pollutant behavior, environmental hazards to petroleum industry development, the nearshore and coastal ecosystem.
