Fatal Accident Circumstances and Epidemiology (FACE), City Foreman Electrocuted and 3 Crew Workers Critically Injured While Erecting a Traffic Control Pole

On April 23, 1985 a four-person crew from a city public works department was in the process of installing a metal pole upon which a traffic control light would be installed. The foreman and 3 crew workers were guiding the crane-suspended pole into position when the pole made contact with an overhead 26,000 volt power line. The foreman was electrocuted, one worker is comatose with a poor prognosis, and two workers are in an intensive unit at a local hospital.
