Industrial Targeting: Korea's Electronics Industry

An analysis of industrial targeting tools used in Korea's electronics industry. Covers Korea's Electronics Industry Law and Long-Term Development Plan, Korea's Five-Year Economic and Social Development Plan, Government supported R&D programs. Also discusses tariff and non-tariff barriers restricting imports into Korea, including preferential financing to encourage local electronics manufacturers. Joint stockpiling and manpower development within the industry are also addressed. The report concludes with a statement concerning the effectiveness of targeting tools applied to the development of Korea's electronics industry and provides a bibliography.
