The report describes the environmental monitoring activities of the past and present in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and discusses plans for future environmental monitoring activities based on research and resource management needs. Subjects covered include geology, air pollution monitoring, stream and groundwater monitoring, vegetation mapping and survey plots, wildlife and fisheries studies, weather (climatological monitoring), and atmospheric deposition monitoring.
