Costs of Producing Major Crops, 1975-81

In 1983, the Economic Research Service (ERS) revised its cost-of-production (COP) estimates to incorporate new concepts and methodologies into a costs-and-returns budget format. These changes affect estimates from 1980 to the present. Since the earlier COP estimates are not comparable with the current estimates, this report updates 1975-79 crop costs (published by the U.S. Senate) and converts them to concepts and publication format now in use.
