New Perspectives on Federal Management: An Inventory of Shared Administrative Support

In an effort to encourage efficiency in the delivery of Federal Administrative Support Services, the President's Council on Management Improvement appointed an inter-agency study team to assess Agencies' existing administrative support delivery practices. In this and two companion volumes, the study team reveals that a number of Agencies have taken steps to share or combine administrative resources. In this volume, the team presents an inventory of organizations which are providing shared administrative support on an inter-agency or intra-agency basis. It is designed to be a 'shopper's guide' to organizations providing shared support in the key areas of personnel, procurement, finance, and administrative or property services. It can stimulate others to think about the advantages of cooperation for the delivery of these services.
