Report on the Implementation of the Farm Credit Act Amendments of 1980

The report is the second of two reports on the programs and activities which were authorized by the Farm Credit Act Amendments of 1980. An interim report (GAO/GGD-83-26) on the general implementation process for the 1980 Amendments was issued on March 7, 1983. GAO's final report discusses the extent that the new and expanded lending authorities in the 1980 Amendments have been used by the agricultural community and whether these amendments have resulted in the benefits anticipated when the legislation was enacted. GAO's review was made pursuant to the Farm Credit Act of 1971, as amended (12 U.S.C. 2260).
