The following competitive assessment of the electric power generating equipment industry is intended to inform decision-makers in the Executive and Legislative branches of the problems and prospects of the industry. The assessment is meant to inspire debate on the issues which could lead to new ideas and perhaps a consensus on an appropriate course for U.S. Government policy with respect to the industry.
