Effect van Vermindering van de Openbare Verlichting op de Verkeersveiligheid (Effect of Limiting Public Lighting on Traffic Safety)

The report presents a research on the relationship between the level of public lighting and traffic safety. The report describes some studies in the field and in particular a recent pilot study in the city of Dordrecht in which during two winters the public lighting was decreased on certain roads and in some residential areas. Some recommendations for countermeasures and suggestions for further research are also presented.
