Novel Cyclone Separator

摘要

The objective of the project is to verify the hydraulic working principle of a novel cyclone separator which can be operated with constant pressure drop over a range of flow rates. The proposed cyclone is equipped with a spring-loaded moveable end plate which automatically adjusts the cyclone inlet opening area in response to flow rate variations to maintain a constant pressure drop and thereby a nearly constant separation efficiency. The scope of investigation includes design and fabrication of a prototype cyclone, test loop setup, and performance of hydraulic tests. Results of the tests are included in the report.
