Integrated Local Government Financial Assistance Database. Volume 1

Recognizing the fact that there is no single, readily available source of information on the local receipt of federal and/or state financial assistance, the Illinois Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation established a computerized database identifying the intergovernmental assistance provided to Illinois local governments in FY 1983. With the support of the National Conference of State Legislatures and a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the commission succeeded in obtaining, editing and organizing data from different sources to develop a system to enable legislators and staff to be more informed and in a better position to analyze public policy issues quickly.
