Use of Filter Fabric as a Subgrade Retainer

摘要

The project studies the use of filter fabrics as a subgrade retainer, specifically on the construction of a highway (Florida S.R. 80 Relocated) over organic material in Palm Beach County, Florida. The objectives of the project are: to evaluate and compare the construction techniques using three different types of filter fabric to separate the local embankment material from the foundation organic soil; to evaluate the long-term performance of embankment construction using filter fabric over organic soil; and, to compare the cost of the two construction techniques; one using filter fabric and the other conventional. This represents the final report on the project.
