Food in the Third World: Past Trends and Projections to 2000

The report assesses the current food situation in 105 developing countries, including the People's Republic of China, for cereals, roots and tubers, pulses, groundnuts, and bananas and plantains. Based on 1961-80 production trends and 1966-80 per capita income trends, projections are made to the year 2000, and geographic areas likely to experience imbalances between production and consumption are indicated.
