Implementation of Decentralized Operative Computer Control for Flexible Manufacturing Systems

A decentralized manufacturing control concept based on functional specification techniques, a heuristic logic of manufacturing situations, and event triggered computations is proposed. An extension of the SIMULA 67 system class SIMULATION has been designed for experimental investigations with this concept. A simulation experiment with a simple flexible manufacturing cell is described. A decentralized computer system for implementation of the hardware is outlined.
