The resin acid composition of rosins and oleoresins can be determined by gas chromatography using a 7 meter BDS fused silica column. Operating conditions can be optimized by considering temperature-dependent separation factors, liquid phase stability, and analysis time in relation to quantitation and component identification by retention characteristics.
