Review of the Quarterly Medicaid Statement of Expenditures for the Medical Assistance Program in Colorado

State Medicaid programs must provide certain medical services, including inpatient and outpatient hospital services and physician services. States also may offer certain optional services, such as Colorados Medicaid managed care program, as long as the services are included in their approved State plans. Our objective was to determine whether the State agencys claim for Federal reimbursement of Medicaid expenditures was adequately supported by actual recorded expenditures.
